The Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Larissa (DEYAL), the Association of Municipal Water and Sewerage Companies (EDEYA), and the Hellenic Network of Cities with Rivers are co-organizing a conference on the occasion of World Water Day and the 100th anniversary of DEYAL's founding. The event aims to highlight modern challenges in water resource management and the role of local government in sustainable development.
Professor Chrysi Laspidou, Civil Engineering Professor and Vice-Rector for Innovation, Internationalization, Partnerships, and Digital Governance at the University of Thessaly—as well as former Vice President of the Brussels-based organization Water Europe—will honor the event with her presence and participate as a speaker.
Roundtable Discussions:
- First Thematic Session: "Modern History of DEYAL"
Participants include three former mayors of Larissa—Christodoulos Kaffes, Konstantinos Tzanakoulis, and Apostolos Kalogiannis—along with current mayor Athanasios Mamakos and DEYAL Vice President Konstantinos Argyropoulos. - Second Thematic Session: "Water Management" (11:30-12:30)
Professor Chrysi Laspidou will join a discussion on critical issues related to sustainable water management, challenges, and future prospects. Other participants include:- Triantafyllos Karapatis, Commissioner of the Court of Audit of Larissa
