At the Balkan Countries Health Business Forum 2025, held on April 25–27 in Edirne, Turkey, the Rector of the University of Thessaly, Professor Charalambos Billinis, attended as a guest of the Rector of Trakya University, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler, along with the Vice Rector for Innovation, Internationalization, Partnerships, and Digital Governance, Professor Chrysi Laspidou, and the Vice Rector for Research and Lifelong Learning, Professor Ioannis Stefanidis.
Within the framework of the event, a forum of Rectors from Balkan universities was organized, with the participation of the Minister of Health of Turkey as well as the Ministers of Health from many Balkan countries.
The Rector of the University of Thessaly was one of the 12 participants in the Rectors’ Forum and took the floor during the thematic session "Human Resources, Information Systems and Innovation in Health Tourism."
In his address, he thanked the organizers for the invitation and emphasized the importance of excellence and collaboration in the field of health. He made particular reference to the strategic role played by the University of Thessaly in improving the health and well-being of the population of the Region of Thessaly, through cutting-edge educational and research initiatives.
The participation of the Rector and the Vice Rectors in this international event highlights the University's steady focus on international networking, as well as the Administration's ambition to establish the University of Thessaly as a leading hub of knowledge and innovation in the field of health in the Balkans.
