Appointment of the SDG Ambassadors of the University of Thessaly

The Administration of the University of Thessaly announces the establishment of the body of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Ambassadors, within the framework of the University’s strategy for integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into its operations, teaching, research, and outreach activities.

This initiative, which began with an open call for expressions of interest addressed to the entire academic community, aims to create a network of Ambassadors — one for each of the 17 SDGs — who will mobilize students, teaching staff, and administrative structures toward sustainability, social and environmental responsibility, and innovation.

The SDG Ambassadors will serve as connecting links between the Administration and the members of the University, developing actions, programs, and collaborations that promote the Sustainable Development Goals and actively contributing to improving the University of Thessaly’s position in international rankings.

The Administration extends its warm thanks to all colleagues who responded to the call and congratulates the members appointed as SDG Ambassadors, emphasizing that the University of Thessaly is at the forefront of Greek universities that turn the UN Goals into action, knowledge, and social impact.

We now have a team of colleagues at the University who will contribute, in collaboration with the rest of the academic community and especially with the students, to making sustainability a reality. We envision the University functioning as an experiential laboratory in which we all work together to implement policies and practices that will enhance our coexistence and strengthen the human-centered and innovative character of the University of Thessaly. Through collectivity and participation, we are making Sustainable Development a tangible part of our daily life at the University.
