School in the Democracy, Democracy in the School
The three Departments of Education of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Thessaly in collaboration with the Pedagogical Society of Greece organize the 16 International Conference of Pedagogical Society of Greece in Volos. The conference is held from 29 to 30 November and on 1 December 2019.
The theme of the conference is: "School in democracy, democracy in school". Starting from the concept of democracy as a way of life and not simply as a system of governance and given the scientific dialogue developed internationally for the cultivation of students' political and democratic consciousness, the provision of equal opportunities to all in education, the participation of all involved in school education and thus the redefinition of a democratic school in modern society, this issue was decided jointly with members of the Organizing Committee of the Conference which serve as faculty members at three educational departments of the University of Thessaly.
