Press Release For The 2018 Fish Farming Conference On "The Greek Fish Farming As The Leader Of Development Of The National Economy"

The 2018 Fish Farming Conference on "The Greek Fish Farming as the Leader of Development of the National Economy" was held at Domotel Kastri Hotel on 22 & 23 June 2018, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic.

The main purpose of the conference was to bring together everyone involved in aquaculture; scientists and professionals both from Greece and the European Union, and to start a fruitful dialogue on the issues that concern the sector in Greece.

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, gave a welcome speech and among the keynote speakers of the conference was the Rector of the University of Thessaly, Professor Georgios Petrakos. The Professor of Urban Planning of the University of Thessaly, Mr. Dimitris Economou, expounded on his proposition on "Special Spatial Planning for Aquaculture: Axes of a Future Review". Assistant Professor Panagiotis Verilis of the Department of Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment of the School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Thessaly, expounded on his proposition on “Greek Aquaculture: Research and Development for Global Leadership".
