International Relations Office

The International Relations Office (IRO) is part of the Cultural Exchange and Public Relations Department of the University of Thessaly. The main mission of the IRO is the establishment and implementation of academic cooperation programmes among Institutions of Higher Education. The services provided include the identification and exchange of information concerning academic issues, mobility and culture. The University of Thessaly is an active member of the EUA (European University Association) and of the CMU (Community of Mediterranean Universities).

The IRO is in charge of :

• The development of bilateral agreements for cooperation with foreign Universities.
(The website www.moveonnet.eu provides a comprehensive directory of Universities worldwide and tools for the communication between the IROs).
• Welcoming foreign students and teachers in the framework of several agreements and exchange programmes in and out of Europe.
• Helping in setting up european and international administrative and financial research projects.
• Informing postgraduate students and researchers about mobility and research programmes.
• Promoting teaching staff mobility as well as european and international educational plans.
